Karma is a good thing... If you are a Good Person!

December 7, 2007

I truely believe if you think good thoughts and stop yourself from judging others, either based on their actions or looks, good things happen. I am a living example of that. From red-head with rage issues, to where I am today. People can change for the be

I am a big believer on thinking everything happens for a reason, be it good or bad. When people dwell and complain about everything bad that happens to them it makes me sad. True it may hurt at the time and you may ask god, "Why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?" But remember everthing happens for a reason. We are being tested on a daily basis. What we do, what we say to others makes a huge impact on our lives if you believe it or not. Even our own thoughts make a difference. When you think negative thoughts, negative things happen to us.

Like I said in a previous blog, I took my son back to miami for a follow up visit to the cardiologist. Even though I do not have alot of money as of yet (hopefully things will change after my books get published) I took my last bit of money I had and went out and bought measuring cups, pizza cutters, and an assortment of measuring spoons for the Ronald McDonald house. I noticed when I was staying there there wasn't any when I went to cook. I do not plan on staying there ever again but I thought it would be nice for those families that have to stay there months at a time. I also brought lots of little tikes and other toys for the kids to play with.
We were at the cardiologist waiting for the doctor to see him but he had an emergency and we had to wait a couple hours so I decided to bring the stuff I brought, over to the Ronald McDonald house while we waited. Before we left the guy standing behind me looked at Cody, wearing his black cowboy hat smiling with his cute dimples, and the man couldn't believe he had just had open heart surgery 5 days before and was doing so well. (I guess this man was seeing the adult cardiologist there.) Anyway as we were leaving, waiting for the elevator, he had walked over to his wife and came back. He placed a check in my hand for cash and said it was for Cody for Christmas. It was folded up tightly so I didn't open it up right away because I figured he didn't want everyone around him to know he had just handed me money. I thanked him and I got into the elevator ,opened it up, and it was a check for $100.00. The check had all of his info on it so I sent him and his wife a nice thank you card when we got home.
I often see things like this happen all of the time to me. I do not go out of my way to help others to get anything in return, but it just seems to happen when you least expect it. I have so many incredible stories you wouldn't believe. I used to be kind of like the guy on my name is Earl. Always getting into trouble, thinking bad thoughts about people and looking for a fight. Ready to fight any bitch that talked shit. My nickname was big red, and everyone knew I was not the one to mess with. Red heads can be visious...lol Being Bi-polar didn't help with my rage issues either.
Anyway having my daughter with autism 9 years ago, opened a whole new view of the world for me. I always went out of my way to help children but I could have cared less for adults who didn't help themselves. I always judged "sluts" drug addicts, bums, even if I didn't say it aloud, I was thinking it. When I changed my view of the world, god, and everyday living, my life just seems happier.
So just remember ....before you pass judgement on someone you do not know. Or a fellow classmate stuggling to make friends in school because he or she "looks or acts differently" Remember we are being tested on our actions every second of the day, even if noone is looking. There is a higher power that is looking and watching every move we make. So this holiday season, take it upon yourself to reach out to the kid that has no friends and is picked on, or an elderly neighbor that may need help shoveling snow or raking leaves, and help them out. Feel good about helping without getting anything in return.
Remember everything happens for a reason.
