Mindfreak... Secret Revelations...
February 11, 2008What do you think of Criss's new book..... It's freakin awesome... in my opinion. :oP
I was impressed with Criss Angels new book. It has given me a greater sense of who he is as a person, and an artist. Which has made me respect him even more. It has been forever since I was a fan of anyone. I thank him for giving me something to believe in, an escape from my reality if just for a moment to fantasize about a magical existance. The things he does are amazing and the hard work that goes into perfecting his art is awesome. To go from being scared of needles, to puncturing steel hooks through his skin is an amazing accomplishment for him. Hanging from a helicopter from those hooks was just over stepping the boundaries by a long shot. Freaking awesome! Talk about a mindfreak! Our minds weren't even half as freaked as his was at the time he did it. I sincerely believe Criss is addicted to adrenaline!!!
I also relate to Criss's sadness with the loss of his father. I cried when I read that chapter. My father is dying from war related cancers from vietnam. To watch your father deteriorate right before your eyes is a tough road to travel. To have him die in your arms is even tougher. My father worsens everyday. He tries to show no pain but my mother says he cries at night and lets out screams of agony in his sleep. Cancer sucks! My mom had breast cancer and overcame that, but she is still in pain from the seven different degenative bone diseases she has. I was lucky I found 2 motorized hospital beds for them for under 40.00. They like thier matching beds :o) My kids like to get up there and make them go up and down. :o)
If any of you have read his book let me know what your favorite part about the book was. I highlighted many words of wisdom from the man himself, just so I could occasionally flip through the book and read them when I felt the need to.Two of my favorite quotes in the book were not from Criss, but from each of his parents. I see now why he is the man he is today, worthy of my admiration, and all of yours as the loyal. They are as follows:
"What you can dream is what you can get if you go through whatever it takes to get it. You have to always be realistic and let your actions speak louder than your words." John Sarantakos
"As a parent, you have to support your child. Help them to understand the commitment it takes to persue thier dreams and do whatever you can to help them achieve them." Dimitra Sarantakos
Those were my favorite quotes, what was mindfreaky is that just when I went to look for the quote to copy for my blog, I opened straight to the page without any effort. I guess it's meant to spread the wisdom amongst you all...lol
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK YET ...DO IT NOW! lol I still haven't read the magic tricks yet... TTFN
